Has anyone had any luck getting Wal-mart to return credit for price drops? I bought GTAII for PS2 a week ago at $49 and now it is $29. I called them and they seemed utterly confused by the question. Is this so odd for software?

I know, I know, the game is worth it...but that $20 would be nice, too.

I'm doing the happy dance right now thinking about $39.99 and $29.99 games.

Walmart.com has a ton of stuff for PS2 and Gamecube for $29.99 right now.

woooooooohoooooooo indeed

This very good to hear. I've got a great deal on my wishlist and this will really help. With the modem and HDD coming it's nice to be able to catch a break like this.

Why don't you go ahead and and rebuy the game, then return it with the old receipt. Problem solved.

The way I read it is that Sony is lowering the recommended price of titles made by them (SCEA). So games like SOCOM, Twisted Metal Black, NFL Gameday, Hot Shots Golf, etc. will lower in price.

Third parties could keep their MSRP @ 49.99...hopefully they won't.

I hope this is true, and I don't even own a PS2. I think that Sony will have shown their undying appreciation and devotion to their fans by slashing games to such a price point. Great way to keep up consumer support, all the way to PS3... I just hope the other companies follow suit (especially Nintendo).

I think ya need to read it again, it's definitely referring to all PS2 software.

It does refer to all software. First Sony has to confirm this, then third parties have to choose to follow suit.

Yes, it does refer to all software, but it's up to the third parties to follow suit, just as I said. EA (or any other company) could just as well keep the price @ $49.99.

...although only the Sony first-party titles have been reduced...
Though, chances are, all the companies will follow.
