Does Playstation 2 play VCDs?

My younger brother wanted to get the "Star Wars" trilogy on VCD but wasn't sure if they would play on his Playstation 2. Anyone know if they will?

Go to Wal-Mart and KMart and look for an Apex 1500. I got one for $88 a couple of weeks ago. It plays everything. I don't think I'll use this feature, but you can flash the firmware and make it region free and macrovision free. I like my nice Matrix background, even if I don't have any DVDs from another region or a need to strip out macrovision. Note that the serial number must start with A, B, C or D to be upgradeable.

If your gonna get the VCD, don't waste your time. Save up the extra cash and splurge on the new 5 star DVD release of the SW:SE, they have the same "questionable" legal origins as the VCD but are 100X the quality and DTS/5.1 sound.

Where would one go about getting the 5-Star Release of SW:SE DVD?

Seeing as how the VCDs are authorized and the DVDs are unauthorized, they most certianly aren't from the same "questionable" legal origins. It doesn't matter to me which you have or whether you have them at all, just correcting your info.
