Some say it is one of the finest American films of the last few decades.
I don't know about that, but it's on my shelf along with Malick's other 2 films, and it's one I'll never forget. Cinematically, performance-wise, and sonically a stunning work.
The DVD transfer seems very acceptable. No extras, and they're not the point.
