Does anyone feel a little down now that you spent the extra 100.00 and can't do anything about it? It seems that most, if not all stores only offer 30 day pricematch so many people are out of luck. I bought mine about 40 days ago and I just missed the pricematch. Tell me what your opinions are on this matter.

I bought a preowned PS2 bundle from Gamestop.com. I got the PS2 in the box with all the instructions and a controller, plus Silent Hill2, NBA Live 2002, Madden 2002, and Zone of Enders for $249.99. Even after the price drop I think I got a fantastic deal!

I feel the stores are being rather generous with their price matching within 30 days. The question should be.....Should Sony have informed the public of a price change prior to it happening??? If they do this...then they are going to see an abrupt halt to all PS2 sales until the price drop takes effect unless they handle it the way they did earlier this week. Now I realize that I have had the PS2 since the initial launch.....and it was worth every penny I spent on it as I am sure you are finding out in the past 40 days since you purchased your PS2. Unfortunately, these things happen and will happen again in the future as people are going to find out soon with the Gamecube once they decide to reduce their price. I had a strong feeling that there would be a price war in 2002(thought it would be in the fall) so I decided to hold off on the Gamecube and Xbox. Well...the Xbox is now a definite purchase as will be Gamecube when they lower their price to most likely the $149.99 level. Anyone thinking it will be lower then this is dreaming. Eventually, all three systems will go through another price reduction and I will still not feel like I was cheated out of any money. When I purchase a product such as a computer or a gaming system, I realize that in the near future that I will probably be able to spend less money for the same or even better technology. Don't fret too much about it as you will be having too much fun with the PS2 to even think about it!!! :)

It's not like this price drop was a surprise. A lot of us knew about this potential price drop for a couple of months now. We just expected it to happen at E3. I know I told a lot of people in the last 2 months to wait until the end of May before making the purchase.

Toys R Us is refunding the difference to anyone that has bought a PS2 or X-Box within 30 days of the price drops, as long as you have the receipt.

I bought my Xbox about two months ago so I got burned though I wasn't surprised by the price drop. I've hardly used it at all and now its worth $100 less if I want to get rid of it. Oh well its no big deal if that Star Wars RPG lives up to expectations.

I just posted this inthe hot deals forum, but here goes again.
I bought my PS2 3 weeks ago and gambled that the price drop would come soon enough to price match. This time I won, as I got $106 back yesterday. I have however, lost before. I paid $400.00 for a brand spankin' new Sega Saturn. So, I've paid my dues.
