This is not official yet, but IGN has a story on IGNCube (INsider only) that Zelda is going to be pushed back to February 2003 from its December 2002 release. This will most likely be announced at or around E3.

This should honestly be no surprise. Anyone who hoped for Christmas was pushing it IMO. Yep, the story says many retailers have been told by Nintendo that it has been pushed back to February. I would not be surprised if it gets pushed back farther. I have hope, but I've been down this road in the Zelda universe before (Ocarina of Time anyone?)

You want my opinion?
I do think Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime (which will now come out around Thanksgiving with Zelda giving up the date range), Eternal Darkness (it is coming in June) and StarFox Adventures will be out before the end of the year.
I also believe that Resident Evil 0 will be out before the end of the year for a big 3rd party release.

(in best Gomer Pyle voice) Well! Suurprise! Suurprise! Suurprise!
I still can't believe that star fox adv. hasnt come out yet. theyve been working on that for what, a millenia or two? i remember seeing it as dinosaur planet (as i am sure you all have) so many years ago.

Of all the first party games, that was the only one I am looking forward to :grunt:! To me, eternal darkness looks like crap (visually and gameplay), Mario is a bit too "Mario 64ish" (I didn't really care for that one), and I have serious reservations about a FPS Metroid. Oh well, at least I have RE2 and RE0 to look forward to!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I'd rather have it done right than rushed out the door. Zelda Toot was delayed beyond belief, but when it finally arrived it was well worth it.

 Totally agree. As I said, it was a really big wish for anyone that thought this would be out by Christmas.
As for the StarFox/Dinosaur Planet thing, I believe the core of DP is no longer in existance and that is what is taking so long. I believe Rare decided to redo the characters (like giving Fox fuzzy fur) and I truly think this game has seen it's last delay.
I am hopeful with Eternal Darkness, but will obviously wait for reviews.

good points, but actually my surprise comes from the fact that they so heavily promoted this game during the GCN launch that I thought it would have been out soon (w/in 6months) of the launch. just the fact that it hasn't showed up in playable form is even more surprising.

I actually wouldn't mind this getting pushed to Feb. There's usually nothing worth buying in the first 2 or 3 months of the year and the GCN has a several games I want coming out this late summer/fall already (Mario, Metroid, Star Fox Adventures, Resident Evil 0 etc.) Since I only play at most 10 hours a week, that's a lot for me to play through. The delay does suck for the more dedictated, hardcore gamer though. But if it means the game will be better, it's worth the wait IMO, regardless of how excited anyone is for the game.

Yeah, SFA is taking forever to come out. Hopefully there won't be any further delays. The GameCube will have been out for nearly a year by the time Rare releases their first game.

It was playable at E3 last year. (IGN Hands-on with SFA (http://cube.ign.com/articles/095/095317p1.html))
As for Zelda, are they really going to release one of their biggest games in a slow month like February? I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'm skeptical.

I'm starting to think the new Zelda game is a hoax and it was never being made in the first place. That would explain why Link looked so cool in the early (alleged) screen shots and then suddenly changed into a creepy-looking Anime cartoon character.

no surprise! Heck this is nintendo...every game is expected to be pushed back at least 3 times. Very common.

It's normal.
I remember in Sept. '96 (system came out) Nintendo anounced that Zelda64 would be out in Jan.'97.
It didn't come out until Nov.'97.
I know it's a little irritating sometimes, but I think it's par for the course.
