Need recommendations for punk & metal bands/songs
I’m getting really tired of the music I’m listening so I need a few recommendations for bands/songs to download. Heres what I’m looking for:
Punk – Bands similar to Pennywise, Bad Religion, Etc.
Metal – Bands similar to Slipknot, Mudvayne, Fear Factory, System of a Down etc.
Thanks!

Dunno about metal, but for punk I'd like to recommend The Jam. Download "In the City" and/or "Going Underground". A band I always felt never got their due. Hope you like it...

fugazi, the briefs, minor threat, NOFX, unwritten law, raised fist to name a few "punk" bands.
as for some hard stuff, try the melvins, snot, clutch, prong, deftones

As far as the metal goes, I'd suggest looking at some of the old school stuff.
From the early-mid 80s: OLD Metallica, especially "Kill'em All," Possessed, Venom, Slayer -- "Show No Mercy," "Hell Awaits," "Reign in Blood," "South of Heaven," and "Seasons in the Abyss." Lots of wicked fun.
Might want to look into Anthrax. They were doing rap-metal since '88 or so with "I'm the Man" and "Bring the Noise." There best albums are probably "Spreading the Disease" and "Among the Living." Their later stuff, like "Sound of White Noise" has a definite nu-metal feel.
I'll second some hardcore influenced metal bands like Prong, Biohazzard, Pro-Pain.
Also some hardcore/crossover stuff like Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, DRI.
And you can't go wrong with old Ozzy, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. Might not sound much like Slipknot, but it's what gave birth to the modern metal genre two decades ago.

Don't know if all my punk suggestions would fall under the Bad Religion/Pennywise sound, but here are some bands I like:
Operation Ivy
Rancid
The Clash
Stiff Little Fingers (old stuff)
Thrice
Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly (celtic punk)
Citizen Fish
Value Pac
Descendents
Swingin' Utters
One Man Army
If I think of more later I'll post it.
