How is Weezer - Maladroit

Compare it to the other albums. Most importanly, does it sound anything like the last (green) album?

I listened to the album one time through and reminds me of "Pinkerton" but not at that level, yet. The album is great and is far better than the "Green Album." I use to hate the "Green Album" but it grew on me. This album might prove that Weezer can survive after Matt Sharp left. Do yourself a favor and check out the two albums from the Rentals if you want old school Weezer stylings.

Weezer Rankings:
1. Pinkerton
2. Blue Album
3. Maladroit
4. Green Album

Does it have the hard edge of Pinkerton, or the pop "all songs sound the same" silliness of Green.

Well, i think it balances the two. There are a good handful of songs that have a very hard edge for weezer and just rock your ass off... then there are a few of the pop similar sounding greenish tunes... i think the album is pretty damn good and well worth checking out...

I've listened to about half of it so far and it rocks hard.

It's got the best guitar work I've heard from Weezer, yet.

It's limited to a milion copies (it actually numbered on the back) - get your's quick. I think that's just for the cd-rom stuff.

I've had the "Maladroit" songs downloaded for a while, and it definitely rocks. Better than the Green album (though I do like the Green album quite a bit).

I'm just glad Weezer's reclaiming their former glory. I absolutely loved "Pinkerton" when it came out, so it was very disheartening to see them drop off the planet afterwards. Job well done, lads.

Good to hear, I just could not take another 'Green' album, hate to say that as a big fan, but that was too damn poppy for my tastes....looks like I'll be picking it up.

Excellent CD - a big step up from the Green album.

Love "Space Rock"!

Am I one of the few people that liked the Green Album?

I haven't bought Pinkerton yet, but I like a lot of the songs that came off that album.

The Green Album was my favorite, but then I tend to be more laid-back in my musical tastes, so that was probably it. I wouldn't call myself the biggest Weezer fan (I only discovered them two months ago), but I've listened to a lot of their work - it's quite excellent as a whole.

Maladroit is quite good - not as good as the Green Album, but still great. I would put it on the same level as Pinkerton (which I liked very much as well).

My fave tracks:

Dope Nose
Keep Fishin'
Take Control
Burndt Jamb (I think the best song Weezer has ever done)
Slave
