Kelly Osbourne's "Papa Don't Preach" cover.
Damn. Blame THAT on the gene pool.
She cannot sing.....AT ALL>
PLUS they have a fuzz filter on her voice so it is even worse.
Ack.
Poor girl. She is trying so hard....and failing.
KROQ needs to BURN that trash.
Immediately.

They wanted their oldest daughter, who apparantly can sing, to do the track but she doesn't want to be involved with the show and stuff. I haven't heard it yet hehe, but I don't doubt that it's bad.

Well, I just heard Kelly's cover on the Howard Stern show. You people must be deaf if you think its that bad. It may not be perfect, but there is a lot worse crap out there right now.

It's prefabricated nonsense, just like the Backstreet Boys and N*Sync. Kelly Osbourne didn't have a desire to make a record. Her mom and MTV put this together to cash in on the success of the show.

I agree with Stern concerning this song...
It sounds great and is no worse or better than any other female singer out today.

That is not a reason to like a song. Either the sounds eminating from the song are pleasurable to your ears, or they're not. You like the arrangement or you don't. You like her voice or you don't.
To judge on marketing is B.S.

So when the new Britney Spears or O-Town record comes out you'll give it a chance before criticising it?

If you were a music fan, you'd judge the music, not in the marketing. You don't hear the marketing in your headphones.

Yes. A catchy chorus/hook is a catchy chorus/hook.

This from someone who listens to hair bands?
You're kidding yourself here. You've bought into Poison's image not just their music.
The fact is credibility matters.

I have more respect for bands who write their own music, etc... but I listen to what I like - not what other people think is cool.

I just d/led it and it is about what I expected I guess. I couldn't believe that they would release something COMPLETELY aweful but it isn't exactly the best song in the world hehe. I don't think she wants anything to do with the records business the way she talks on the show.
On a side note, I think it is kinda lame that they are releasing a soundtrack to the show. I mean, it isn't like the show played new music or actually had a soundtrack. I guess it's just marketing though.

But I didn't.
I like the music, so the marketing of grunge, etc, and the sentiment that pop-metal "wasn't cool" did not turn me off to what I like.
The image faded 10 years ago, but it's the music that remains in my cd player today -- no matter what marketers try to tell me.

Honestly, if Poison were a bunch of middle aged overweight geeks, would their music still have the same credibility? No, of course not.
