My XBox controller broke

Well, not really "broke" but the left trigger button in the back sticks down when I press it and affects the game. It doesn't stick down far and you wouldn't even know it was doing it if the gameplay wasn't affected by it. I can't play SSX Tricky anymore because every time I get some air, dude grabs his board and I take a fall when I land.

Unlike every other game system I have owned I have NEVER thrown or abused the XBox controller That thing is way too expensive to do that to.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Same thing happened to me with a couple of Dreamcast controllers. I would just replace it.

My controller has been doing this since day one but it's the right trigger on mine. It affects Tony Hawk and SSX (which I sold), but I have other controllers when it becomes a problem. Sometimes I'll just whack the controller to get it to work and unstick the trigger button.

Odd thing is, I have noticed the problem in SSX Tricky as well, but not any other games. I found in Tricky I can just click both shoulder buttons once very quickly before I land to stick it. (the landing)

KB Toys is having a sale through the 27th I think, all accessories for all systems except for Sony's remote, controller, and memory cards for 50% off. So you can grab some controllers and memory cards for the GameCube and X-Box pretty cheap. LCD screens aren't included either, unless you can find that one that runs on all three systems, then I think you could grab that for 70 bucks.

That's what they're doing in my KBs anyway, I assume sales are usually nation-wide with them.

Even though mine didn't break, I picked up a S-Controller this weekend (thanks to a gift card I had laying around) and I must say, I like the way it feels MUCH better than the standard contoller. I have large hands, but this controller seems to fit perfectly and comfortably. And Halo never played better

Just my two cents, TIFWIW
