Ok, i know its illegal to rent a dvd and copy it or copy a friends dvd. I have a lot of dvd's and i go on trips, and i don't feel like buying a portable dvd player. I have a digital sony camcorder (DCR-TRV20) and i wanted to tape some dvds so that i could take them on a recent trip that i went to (3 hours on a bus!!) Well i tried to record them and it said "copy inhibit" and there was no way around this. Then i tried to record a VHS tape and it still said the same thing. Does anyone know how to bypass this??

To make this clear, i'm not trying to make bootlegs or copy rented dvds, i buy dvds everyweek because of there superior video and audio and would not sacrifice that for a microDV tape. Thank you

Macrovision is preventing it, same as if you were trying to copy a DVD or tape (that was made by a studio) onto a VHS tape. There are hardware filters/converters/whatevers, but they'll probably cost you.

Use a sima copy master pro between the two($50.00) and that should solve the problem.
