No flames please. But I love the B-52's. And I don't mean
"Love Shack". I actually hate that song. Their first two
albums are pure classics IMO. But is that actually the
them singing on the new Target commercials? The song
goes something like "Orange you glad it's summer?"
If it's not, it sure sounds like them. BTW, have
you ever seen a lazier band than these guys?
They tour every other year (maybe). And that's
maybe only about a dozen or so shows. Their last
album was 10 years ago. Noboby but Fred Scheider
has done a solo album during that time (did anybody
know this?). Kate did all her guest appearance with
other bands before that. So what are they doing
all this time??

I've heard/seen the commercial, too.
I immediately recognized it as the B-52s. Is it a new song, then? I just figured they licensed out one of their older numbers to Target to use in the commercial. Pulled a Moby, as it were.
And it that ain't Fred's voice, I'll eat my Iron Maiden records.

Yes, it is a new song. I know everything these guys have done.
And right after I posted this thread, I did a little surfing and
found they now have an official site that confirmed this is
them. That site btw is www.theb52s.com Anyway,
I also learned when finding that site that they are touring
again this summer. Naturally, not in my area. So I'm going
to have to shell out some major bucks to go see them
somewhere else. Have to. Their concerts are so much fun.
Also, no word on any album on the horizan. WTF!?

Daytripper, since you are such a big fan, did you know that Cindy Wilson was on TV last Saturday night from the Music Midtown fest in Atlanta? It was on Turner South (not sure how far across the U.S. that station goes). I heard she sang a slowed downed version or "Roam".

Yeah, I just read that on their official website. And no, I don't get Turner South. Too bad. I ***love*** Cindy Wilson. If she doesn't do "Give Me Back My Man" on this next tour, I'm gonna be piss'd.
