If this game is good, I may have to shell out for an Xbox.

Looks pretty good thus far, but I haven't seen any shots from the other system's games yet. Is this the one based on the books or the movie?

May 03, 2002 - IGN first brought you the news about Fellowship of the Ring heading to the Xbox shortly before E3 2001, and today we had the chance to actually see the game running on the XDK. Although we only got to see two levels, and the game is still a little early, we were able see how the game will play and how true to the book it is

Of course that is just IGN's opinion. Who knows if the writer is a Tolkien fan and has even read the book or not....

This game is the Xbox exclusive that is based on the books.

There is also a GBA games coming based on the books, and a multi-console game coming based on the movies.

From what I've seen, the Xbox game shown above looks to be the best of the bunch.
