Pink Floyd: Pulse on DVD?
I'm surprised to not find this question in a search. Anyway, does anyone know when this will be on DVD, or at least know a good site that I can check to find out?
btw- is this the right forum for this question or should it be in the music forum?

I am also very interested in this. But I haven't heard any news as of late. It was supposed to be released, but was put on hold for some reason. I don't have any more information than this quote from David Gilmour in January:
"I think the Pulse recording we'll be releasing on DVD, but its quite complicated, it has to be completely remixed"
Keep your fingers crossed....I am!

Pink Floyd DVD releases
I just read at a very credible PF site that PULSE and DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER should be released sometime in September.
This comes from word that David Gilmour has said he has been working on the PULSE specs and mastering for DVD.
I really hope to see them in September as these are some pretty cool concerts.
I can only imagine the visual from a DVD!
Visit PinkFloyd.net for more info.

There are no official release dates at the moment, but as Gilmour stated, Pulse IS in the works and probably is going to be released soon, rumors say September. Delicate also appeared in Amazon.com pre-orders (as well as Pulse), and this is all we have at the moment.

No Pompeii...
I know there's a 'VCD' but it's just can't be the same. I hear rumors about lost elements and thank G-d I have the LD and a burned CD from it.

So... is there any verification other than the "very credible PF site" which, along the other "credible" news has a 2003 tour info with the band reunited, and dvd-a re-releases of ALL their albums, and so on?
sorry if i'm a skeptic, but rumors+pink floyd go hand in hand, though Pulse on dvd is being talked about in a lot of circles.

Rumors about a Reunion came from Waters and Gilmour doing separate concert events,,,,,,some Floyd fans get a little excited and throw out reunion rumors.
David has already said many times that they are too old to tour anymore and feel fine sitting at home and doing side projects.
As for the DVD issue, this is rumor that has become fact from David himself.
Amazon.com has the two for pre-order if you look.

NicK Mason played drums at Roger Waters' Wembley dates.
According to what I just read today in UK's Classic Rock magazine it was on two successive nights and he played on "Set the controls for the heart of the sun".
But Waters is preparing to record a new solo....

As far as I know it's true.. the rumor originally came from the guy that run's roger water's tour site (i think it's intheflesh2002.com or something) and he got it from roger's manager. And given that these people (the guy who told me and the guy from the webpage) pretty much spend their lives on all things floyd, I have very little reason to doubt them. As far as Pulse and Delicate sound, I'm still waiting for a firmer verification. Stay tuned...

ebay or alt.music.pink-floyd newsgroup seem to have leads for the VCD. I'm skipping it since I have the LD and a hope that the DVD will actually arrive.

DAVID GILMOUR IN CONCERT DVD + VHS
On 23rd September, 'David Gilmour in Concert', the DVD and VHS, is released on Capitol Records. Filmed live at his critically acclaimed Meltdown Festival concert at London's Royal Festival Hall in June 2001, with additional footage from David Gilmour's three concerts at the same venue in January 2002. It also includes guest appearances from Rick Wright, Robert Wyatt and Sir Bob Geldof. The 130 minute DVD/VHS captures the magical performance given by David Gilmour and illustrates why these concerts won universal rave reviews.
'David Gilmour in Concert' comprises 16 songs performed by Gilmour, his semi-acoustic band rich in talent and the exquisite gospel choir led by Sam Brown. The set is tantalising in its sheer diversity - from Pink Floyd classics such as Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and High Hopes, to Syd Barrett's Terrapin and Dominoes as well as a performance of Je Crois Entendre Encore from Bizet's opera The Pearl Fishers which one critic described as an "unlikely triumph..." and a new song Smile.
The DVD will also feature more than thirty minutes of Special Features. These include home video footage of David Gilmour rehearsing at home with the choir, six guitar solos in "close-up" so that guitar enthusiasts can watch him play his solos in detail and there are three bonus songs recorded at other times.
DAVID GILMOUR IN CONCERT DVD + VHS Technical Specifications
The entire concert performance is presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround and 24-bit stereo LPCM.
