Concerts you look forward to going this summer.

I just bought tickets to 2 different concerts:

Rush - They are coming in my area to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The show will be taken place on Saturday July 6. It's going to be an amazing show. I've never seen Rush in concert before and I've always wanted to. It's going to be great seeing Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart all on stage together live in person. Rush is one of my favorite bands and I own a lot of their albums. This is obviosly their first tour since the last 5 years. I can't wait for this show.

The Goo Goo Dolls - They are coming to the Palace Theater in Albany, N.Y. on June 7. The Goo Goo Dolls are a good band, a friend of mine asked me to go to this one with him. I'm sure Johnny Rzeznick (SP?) and the guys would be very good on stage. I like the Goo Goo Dolls music.

I'll be looking forward to going both of these shows. These are the only 2 shows I bought tickets for so far but hopefully there's going to be more good ones coming.

So has anyone here bought any concert tickets for shows this summer?

Rush isn't coming down here until October. I'm hoping Blackalicious comes here at some point, but that's pretty doubtful. Florida (especially south) sucks hard for concerts.

I just saw Garbage last night, and they were pretty good. However, Shirley had that awful blonde hair that she has now and I hate it.

I'm waiting for RUSH, I saw them three times in 96-97 and I'm going to see them at least two times on this tour. I got 3rd row seats for Scranton and I will see them in Hershey and maybe Philly.

Last I heard they ARE going to go back around the US again. Justin has stated that they are going to tour for another 5 or so months, then work on some material they have left from Lateralus as well as some new material for the new album. No dates of course but you can bet they will be going to similar places as last time.

Though I'm sure there aren't too many synthpop/industrial fans on this board who will appreciate this festival, I'm salivating like you wouldn't believe for it!

Synthpop Goes The World - Toronto (June 28-30)

Die Roboter
Melotron
T.O.Y.
Beborn Beton
Covenant

Cosmicity
Spoons
Psyche
Mesh
And One

New Clear Sky
Red Flag
Assemblage 23

... and two bands to be named later. Personally, I'm hoping for another big name - maybe, VNV Nation or Apoptygma Berzerk. No matter, the lineup is already fantastic!

My most anticipated one happened last week in NJ, it was the Skate & Surf Fest. After that I'm going back to NJ for Holidays In The Sun and to NY in October for Cracktoberfest. Maybe Warped Tour, but I only like 4 or 5 bands on the list.

Me'Shell Ndegeocello
Lenny Kravitz
The B-52's

Considered No Doubt but did want want to deal with a 7,500, standing room only crowd.

Would like to see Alanis and Pet Shop Boys, but they are not coming to Cleveland.

Saw Garbage last week - great show. The crowd was suprisingly enthusiastic.

I've got tickets for Bob Dylan, Macey Gray and Lenny Kravits. I was hoping to get to Roskilde again this year but it doesn't look possible.

WooHoo! Glad to see someone gave some of the bands I love a shot!

If you like what you've heard from those two bands, I'd definitely recommend checking out the following:

Assemblage 23
Covenant
De/vision
Project Pitchfork
Seabound

Unfortunately, a lot of these bands rarely (if ever) get to tour North America. This is one of the reasons why I'm so ecstatic about the festival I mentioned above.

That being said, I'm not sure where you live, but both Apop and VNV are touring the US this year. Definitely, definitely check them out live - they both put on a great show (uber-energy!).

Apoptygma Berzerk (/w Beborn Beton):

03.05 - Miami/Ft.Lauderdale - Polish American Club
04.05 - Tampa - Masqurade
05.05 - Jacksonville - Fat Kat Club
06.05 - Atlanta - Masqurade
08.05 - NYC - The World BUY
10.05 - Philadelphia
11.05 - Washington DC - The Nation
12.05 - Boston - Manray
14.05 - Chicago - The Metro
15.05 - Detroit - St.Andrews Hall
17.05 - Denver - Gothic Theatre
22.05 - Los Angeles - The Palace
23.05 - San Francisco - The Slims
25.05 - Seattle - Catwalk

VNV Nation (/w Haujobb):

11.04 Tampa, FL - Masquerade
12.04 Atlanta, GA - Masquerade
14.04 Philadelphia, PA - TBC
15.04 Pittsburgh, PA - Club Laga

I'll try to check that one out. Metro is the best place to see a show in Chicago IMO.
