Review: Pretty as a Picture:Art of David Lynch
I finally got around to picking this up after Mulholland reignited my Lynch fire.
Pretty as a picture:Art of David Lynch is a wonderful documentary about the man and the people around him. With some terrific footage of his early films and a nice walkthrough on the Eraserhead "set" with the cast, this disc is simply a must own for anyone building a Lynch collection. It is in Dolby Stereo with a full frame image (Eraserhead and Lost Highway footage excluded).
There is some bonus interview material included on the disc as well a little photo montage of David.
I won't spoil it further for those who haven't seen it yet.
Suffice it to say that this disc makes up for the lack of extras for most of his DVDs (Straight Story and Mulholland Dr. excluded)

One thing to keep in mind is that this documentary was directed by a close friend of Lynch's. As such, it's basically a puff-piece filled with softball questions for him. Worth seeing, but not as objective as I would have liked.
I have a review of the laserdisc here. Should give an idea of the content. The DVD has a supplement section with some extra interviews that didn't make the final cut.
