Anyone going to the HFStival

The lineup seems kind of lame again to me. If it was held up here in Baltimore again I probably would have considered going though.

Saturday May 25th:
The Strokes
Eminem
Hoobastank
Our Lady Peace
Paul Oakenfold
Quarashi
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Sum 41
Sev
The Lloyd Dobler Effect
Goldfinger
Trik Turner
N.E.R.D.
New Found Glory
Citizen Cope
The Vines

Sunday May 26th:
Papa Roach
Alen Ant Farm
Our Lady Peace
X-ecutioners
Good Charlotte
P.O.D.
Hoobastank
Trik Turner
Unwritten Law
Sum 41
Dashboard Confessional
GOB
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Citizen Cope
The Vines
Phantom Planet
Abandoned Pools
Lourdermilk
The Lloyd Dobbler Effect

This is such a telling tale of radio these days. I remember when the HFStival was a don't miss event, even back in the day when it was held at the unfinished horsetrack in Prince George's County.

I remember in its heyday, at least 90% of the lineup were acts that had to be seen.

Looking at this lineup....hmmm

B.R.M.C.
Paul Oakenfold
The Strokes (although I doubt they translate well in this setting)
N.E.R.D.
Alien Ant Farm (only because they at least have fun with their generic crap)
Phantom Planet

Those are the only acts I would see, and I can wait until they play the 9:30 Club, the Nation, the NorVa, or the Boathouse sometime soon.

Man that lineup is lame. The only one I went to was at PSInet. What a frigging lineup for that show:

Live
Blink 182
Offspring
Bosstones
Silverchair
Sugar Ray (they sucked so hard)
Orgy
Jimmi's Chicken Shack
Red Hot Chilli Peppers

I mean damn, compare that to the current lineup.

I actually think that this year's lineup is much better than the one you listed (although I don't think this year's is too wonderful either. But from this year's lineup, I wouldn't mind seeing Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, NERD, Phantom Planet, the Strokes and the X-Ecutioners (despite the lame Linkin Park song that's popular right now).

I guess it is perspective. Honestly I am not very familiar with the bands at this years festival, or I don't like what little I have heard.

I think I am just getting old...sigh...

My favourite HFStival was when PRODIGY headlined, that was seriously by far the most intense performance, sure it was sheer hell in the moshpit, but it was fun. After the festival, ran over to the 9:30 to see SUPERGRASS!!
