Tragically Hip and question for PDX dvdtalkers...

First, WHOOOHOOOO!!! The Tragically Hip are touring again! ANd they are coming to Portland August 22 & 23!!!!

Now for the question, how is the Aladdin? I've never been there..what's the seating like or is is general like the Crystal Ballroom? And how big is it? Last time I saw the Hip it was at the Saddledome in Calgary (15,000 people), I can't wait to see these guys at a more intimate venue.

This is going to kick serious ass.

Last time I saw The Hip I was living in Phoenix. They played a theater that probably held 1,000 at most. I got tickets about 3 hours after they went on sale, and I got front row seats.

Now I'm in Buffalo and tickets sell well here, and they also seat about 16k

Not only are they touring again, there's a new CD on the horizon.

It is assigned seating, but i think there is a substantial area up front where you can stand. The alladin is a great venue though, i have only been there twice, both times not for music so i was not interested in standing up. And i couldn't really tell you what music sounds like there, but a couple of my friends who saw weezer there said the sound was adiquit.
