What a great Tuesday! (Elvis Costello, Wilco, Westerberg!)

This will be one of the biggest CD-buying days I've had in a while - coming out this week are the new Elvis Costello CD, long-awaited Wilco and a double-CD by Replacements frontman Paul Westerberg! I'm pretty psyched, all three discs have been getting excellent advance word. Anyone else looking forward to this week's musical bounty?

I plan on picking up all that you mentioned. Plus, Chelsea Walls soundtrack by Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy and the debut disc by ex-Wilco Jay Bennett. I also wouldn't mind picking up the Band's Last Waltz box set, but that may have to wait depending on the price...

I'm looking forward to the EC disc (on Friday, my Constitutional Law professor was playing a copy of it that he downloaded). Doesn't the new Badly Drawn Boy disc (the About a Boy* soundtrack) come out tomorrow?

*Great book, BTW.

Not to mention the "Attack of the Clones" soundtrack by John Williams.

But then I'm a geek, so maybe only I'd know that.

Nah--I'm picking up the Clones soundtrack tomorrow, along with the "new" one from Wilco and Chelsea Walls.

Just make sure you buy the Clones soundtrack from Wal-Mart as there is an exclusive bonus track on the Wal-Mart versions. . .

Actually I think that AOTC bonus track ("The Conveyor Belt") is on all the discs. Having heard the MP3's, it's certainly not an extra track I'd go rushing out searching the ends of the earth to find.

At best, it's a minor addition to an otherwise very successful soundtrack. (Which sadly couldn't be said of the finely chopped "Phantom Menace" soundtrack.)

In addition to Wilco, I'm looking forward to Pet Shop Boys and Cee-lo.
