I just wanna know why chick singers always have their guitar with them in like every picture (not necessarily those ones.)

Is it some kind of woman empowerment thing or something? Like everytime I see her promo photos and such, she always has her guitar. Same thing with Jewel.

You'd know what I think if the cd had arrived to me already. Amazon shipped it last tuesday and it still hasn't arrived!

C'mon, C'mon
It's So Easy

Her albums tend to grow on me. I think this album doesn't have the strengh of material that The Globe Sessions did and there are WAYYYY too many celeb guests. Gwyeneth friggin Paltrow, for God's sake???
That said, there are some nice cuts. The first single, Soak Up The Sun is catchy, but it can't hold a candle to C'mon C'mon. What a great song, and it was genius to make it a duet with Stevie Nicks. It's as good as some classic Fleetwood Mac tracks -- that's high praise indeed. I also like "Steve McQeen"; referencing her previous hits a' la Sting was a nice little touch. I wish she could've done a better job with her duet with Lenny Kravitz. Imagine how cool a true rockin' duet between those two would have been....

I haven't heard the album but that first single "Soak Up The Sun" bores the hell outta me. It sounds like a second-rate Beach Boys tune. I'm sure radio and tv will be hammering us with that damn song all summer.
