The deal at Gamespot.com is still on for 19.95 (at least it was for me at 5 p.m. on 4-16-2002), but if you're like me and are a newbie to DDR, here's what I consider a decent deal:
http://www.redoctane.com/usddrgam1red.html
You get DDR Konamix, a Redoctane dance pad, and a dance pad cover for 59.95. My total came out to around 71.00 with shipping. Usually the dance pad alone costs 39.95, so for twenty bucks more you get the game and a protective cover.
I know it's a little bit much for some people, but I hear that if you get other 3rd party dance pads, they tend to short out on you. The only reliable soft pads are apparently Konami's, Redoctane's, and BNS.
For anyone who has the Redoctane pads, how are they? I know I don't want to spend the money on Ignition pads just yet, but if it'll help me have fun and lose weight at the same time, I think I'll really get into DDR! :D
