Anybody else catch the new tool video yet?

I managed to download it myself earlier this evening and it's just incredible. It clocks in at 10 minutes and 10 seconds.

It's hard to describe the video. It's one of those things you just have to see for yourself. It's got the typical odd shaped people/claymation stuff Adam is known for, but the end throws you for a loop and busts out some whack alex grey art and animation that blows the mind.

It should be making it's rounds on the p2p circuit soon enough though. It weighs in at a hefty 109 megs. It's worth it though, and don't expect to see it on MTV, because I would be surprised if they even played it once. A shame it is too. Anyhoo, just checking in with my fellow tool fans to see if they caught it yet.

Ya, I liked the little guy with the moving face hehe. That ending is great though, I hope it ends up on the supposed Schism dvd single sometime. It's been so long, they should at least add that and something else to it.

My dream would be for them to release a full concert DVD in DTS
But yeah since this is most likely their last video for Lateralus (The have 2 videos per album) I hope they scratch the "DVD Single" idea and go with another kick ass DVD set or something of the kind.

I don't know why he's in the video, but I doubt most people will notice him just because he isn't that well known of an artist.

I too would much prefer another great dvd set, as long as it included both the videos (which I'm sure it would.) A concert would be excellent if done right (a la NIN.) I woulnd't mind a nifty package or anything like that either, just so long as it had great content. The only thing I disliked about the Salival set was the lack of content beyond the 5 videos. Ohwell, it still blew my scalp back.

Awesome video! Tool's videos are always great but I think this one might be their best. Are you guys sure the black guy is Tricky? I don't really know him but I've seen some album covers of his and he looks like the guy in the video. Anyways, Parabola is a great choice for a single and an even better video. Too bad it won't be shown much on MTV. I have it on my computer though.
I hope Tool releases a new dvd with the two Lateralus singles(well three, since Parabol is a different song from Parabola) with I don't know some concert footage maybe? Salival was ok but the live album wasn't that good and it had only 5 clips that are a real pain to get to.
Thanks MJK for the link.

wow - wow

Its wierd, the end with all of the interlocking eyes, sort of in the background, is exactly like an Alex Grey piece called "Death" which I've had for my desktop background for months

I'm gonna go watch it again - wow

You really didn't think the album was good? Everyone I know who bought it say it was worth it just for No Quarter (I agree.) I think it's a pretty fair representation of their history with some of their best performances, forusing on alternations and what not instead of generic album versions. To each his own. I really do hope they release another dvd though hehe.

They mentioned a while back an interest in a full length music movie a la The Wall, and releasing it most likely on DVD. I think that would be great.

I loved the CD also. To have quality recordings of No Quarter, Pushit (alt version), You Lied & Maynards Dick along side the others is great imo.

wow! Tool is amazing, I'm so glad that they released this as a single, and that they combined both Parabol and Parabola into one for the video, because the build up from Parabol is wicked!

Watched this video last night, and my head is STILL swimming.

Of course, that happens with every Tool video. I don't think I'm smart enough to watch them.

TOOL are real artists, both visual and sonic--only they could make me listen to these songs in a whole new way through images.

Almost positive, check him in The 5th Element. He did tour with them for a month last year.

Yep it's definitely tricky. I remember a report a while back about him making an appearance.

I wonder where this is going to premiere today. I'm watching the last 15 minutes of TRL now, but I doubt It'll show up there. Maybe it will get some rotation on mtv2.
