I'm hoping for this date to be right, but originally, they were talking may/june when the movie 8 mile was scheduled for july/august...now that the flick is pushed back to November, the disc may be bumped back, to coincide more with the flick... but i hope the june date will stick...

If the music industry wants to know why their revenue is down these past few years, they need look no further than this tepid slate of "new" releases - a significant portion of which are re-releases or greatest hits collections and/or marginal rap/R&B albums.

I think it's time there was some serious investment in new artist development. Don't you think?

If you like Gorillaz, but sure to check out the similar, but far superior band Soul Hooligan. Their new album, "Music Like Dirt" is due May 21.

Man, there's just a flood of new releases by artists I'm into lately -- just had Wilco, Elvis Costello, Paul Westerberg and now I've got TWO Tom Waits, a new David Bowie (check out the cover at amazon.com - it's spooky!) and finally a new Breeders CD after nearly 10 years; I'm hopeful that'll be decent.

The Peter Gabriel reissues just piss me off. It's been what, a decade now since "Us" was released and we've seen nothing but a live set and a whole bunch of p¥ssing around on his part. Starting to wonder if we'll ever see another CD from him, his new one's been announced as "coming soon" for years now...

Just a thought: perhaps the (almost OOD) March/April and/or earlier threads can be linked in the first post by sterling thread creater/maintainer bigjim25....?

SOULFLY 3

can't wait. not sure if it matters, but the website states that there will be no digipack release in the US. so you'll have to look to europe for the bonus tracks.

I think Nelly's "Nellyville" has already dropped on the web. Maybe he'll move up the release date as well.

I don't see it listed anywhere here, so I'll just mention that the U.S. release date for the new Doves album, Last Broadcast, is June 4, 2002.
