Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat -- the next sleeper hit?
I've been reading a couple reviews about this (gamespot and IGN haven't gotten around to doing this one yet, but a couple other sites have listed it -- available at gamerankings.com), and a number of player opinions. This actually sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm not sure I heard of it more than a couple vague comments in the past weeks. The only pirate game I was thinking of was Galleon, but this sounds pretty neat.
Anyone here tried it yet?

Um, no sleeper hit.
I have been playing for some time and will be writing a review this weekend for my site.
Pirates offers a lot of unique ideas, but ultimately the controls and options are too bland to make it great.
There is a lot of questing, which can be fun and ship battles are cool, although the constant respawn of water enemies is frustrating.
I personally feel it is an average adventure game. It needed more variety in gameplay, using more fighting techniaues, skills, etc.
EDIT:
Although this is the cheap answer, if it interests you, Pirates is really a game you must try to know if it is for you.
