I hate to slag on Jerry Reed, but....
for some inexplicable reason, I've had that damned song "Bandit" from Smokey and the Bandit in my head all day and I'm about to the point where I'm seriously considering ramming an awl up though my nose just to get it to stop.
It may be a catchy tune, but I think 5 hours of "Bandit, you're reckless/And you live much too hard/ Bandit, you're a joker/In the deal of the cards/" is about enough.
So the awl sits by my mouse. If the song does not cease in the next 30 minutes, I'll truly find out if ignorance is bliss.

Ya know its funny as soon as I saw Jerry Reed's name I got that song stuck in my head. So thank you for that! I often get this song stuck in my head and I have no idea why...maybe it's the chip they put in my head picking up radio signals from an oldies station?
Can I borrow your awl when you are done with it?

East bound and down is a better song to get in your head.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.
Keep your foot hard on the pedal. Son, never mind them brakes.
Let it all hang out 'cause we got a run to make.
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there's beer in Texarcana.
And we'll bring it back no matter what it takes.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.

Ol' Smokey's got them ears on and he's hot on your trail.
He aint gonna rest 'til you're in jail.
So you got to dodge 'im and you got to duck 'im,
you got to keep that diesel truckin'.
Just put that hammer down and give it hell.
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
we're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run.

Oh GREAT! Thanks a lot, BigJim! Now I've got YET ANOTHER Jerry Reed ditty flowing through my head.
Although personally, I think West bound and down is slightly superior to East bound and down. But only by that much.
