"Requiem Mass" by Mozart

I think this music is beautiful. Anyone else like it?

It is. I like choral music in general, having been in concert choirs during college and grad school. Mozart's Requiem, of course, was finished by his student after Mozart's death.

The movie "Amadeus" had that sequence when he was writing the "Confutatis", dictating to Salieri. You could hear each of the voices as they were written in and the instruments. It was VERY cool.

I also liked Verdi's Requiem. I did that back in 1985 and I still remember much of the music after almost twenty years!

I love Requiem Mass.

By the way, there is a version of Amadeus playing in San Jose (Saratoga?) which has 20 minutes of new footage.

I wanna see it, but my bladder won't sit still that long.

I enjoy that very much. I only wish I knew what they were singing.

Just realize that a majority of it was not actually written by Mozart as he died well before he was finished composing it. Some sections were completed by Mozart, some were partially-finished, some he had only written notes (not musical, scribblings) about. As I recall, a student of his named Sussmayr finished it as he thought Mozart would have written it.

I still enjoy most of it immensely. You should try having sex to it. Morbid, but memorable.

Mozart's Requiem is one beautiful piece of work. However, for me, it still can't touch most of the work Sergei Rachmaninov did. Piano Concerto #2 is the bomb like Affleck in Phantoms, yo.
