buying a floor model rear projection tv

Do you see any serious drawback with buing a floor model/demo model 43" rear projection TV? I spotted a big Philips set at a local electronics shop for a great price but it's a floor model. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Generally not a good idea. Floor models have been on for at least 10 hours per day with their brightness and contrast levels up very high, commonly called "torch mode".

The tubes are probably far into their lifespan and there very well may be burn-in as well.

Only if they throw in he extended warranty for the tube.

What do you consider a great price? It would probably have to be close to half off retail to be worth it for the "torch mode" reason.
