This is related to dvd's so I posted in this forum. I need an answer so I can make up my mind on getting the widescreen version of Argento's Sleepless. Then I can sell the crappy Artisan version.

The problem isn't with the region - Region 0 discs will play in any region - but the PAL signal. You won't be able to use a PAL disc unless you have both a PAL-compatible player and TV.

NOT really so... you will need a pal compatible player but your TV won't matter with the Malata N 996 DVD player... search the international forum but here is a good place to start to research the player....
On the back of my place it says Region one NTSC. So I don't know if it will play it or not still.

It won't. I tried it on my Panasonic A-110. It can't output a PAL signal. Thankfully it works on my APEX but I'm buying a Malata to watch it in its correct aspect ratio.

My Pioneer outputs PAL but I had to use a video converter to be able to watch the PAL discs on my NTSC TV.

If you've got a DVD Rom drive in your computer it will play on that. Another option would be to pick up an Apex 1100W at WalMart for $75. This will output a NTSC signal from a PAL disc.

If you stick with the P&S the terrorist will win. (what I'm talking about...)
Ah well... I hope you can fix your problem soon.
