Don't Pre-Order at BestBuy.com

I am still waiting for my shipment of "AI" from BestBuy as of todays date.
I pre-order this title and did get the $5 digital coupon but no movie ever came.
2 weeks is a long time to wait for a film that has been in stores since 3/4/02.

I ended up picking "AI" up at CC.

So be warned....Pre-ordering a title at BestBuy.com is not worth the hassle.
Most of you guys know this anyway.

I remember the whole Heartbreakers fiasco. I preorder that dvd at Bestbuy.com and didn't get it until a month later. Never again will I preorder from them again even though they give you a digital coupon. Still not worth it in my case.

Its not the best website setup anyway. When i worked at Best Buy i was supposed to look up stuff on that website and sometimes it would list stuff as coming out the next week that had been out for 2 months. In my opinion its not very reliable and its not very accurate.

I tried pre-ordering The Beastmaster there with an online coupon. After the movie had been out for two weeks, I still never got it and ended up cancelling. All the while, the B&M must have had 20 copies!

Agreed. Besides, after all the extra $$$ is figured in, it's prolly about the same as picking it up opening week at the B&M....

The only time I preorder at BB.com is when I have a coupon to burn, and even then only if it a great deal. The biggest complaint I hvae about it is that you can't pre-order and select in-store pickup. In this case, I had to order at least a day before release date, because the coupon was set to expire, but if I'd been able to wait until the release date, the price was the same AND I could have picked it up myself (across the street from work). If they want to send me coupons, I'll consider using them, but otherwise, BB.com isn't worth it (IMHO).

I just use my digital coupons and order up a gift certificate that I can later use in the store.

A Post-Scrip to my AI situation with BestBuy.com..

They sent me an email with an attached form I have to fill out and mail back stating that I did not receive the dvd from them and I want a credit.

Thats ok but I still wouldn't receive the movie (I ended up buying at CC for $19.99 last week) if I was actually expecting it from BB.

BTW, I bought a cd from Amazon.uk last week and it turned out they shipped the wrong cd.
Their solution was for me to keep the wrong cd gratis... and that they will ship the correct cd this week. Now thats good Customer Service.

I expected BB to just re-ship the dvd wonce it was deemed Lost In The Mail but I guess they don't do it that way.

But I was able to use my $5 digital coupon from the AI pre-order deal to get Paths Of Glory so it wasn't a total bust at BB.com.

So in the end its not worth Pre-Ordering from BB.com even with a $5 digital coupon. Just go into their stores on Street Date.
