CAUTION: Piranha at Fry's Outpost
I ordered Piranha about three weeks ago from Fry's Outpost (http://www.outpost.com). I couldn't believe the price: $6.99! "Wow," I thought. The picture and description were of the Roger Corman/Joe Dante version.
It arrived, but it wasn't the Roger Corman/Joe Dante one. Nope, the one I received was a cheapie title that I've never heard of, one of those bargain titles I've seen in clear cases. "Crap," I thought.
So I called them up a couple of weeks ago. I explained the situation to the rep. He said he would credit my account the $6.99. He said I could even keep the DVD. He also was kind enough to refund the extra $.50 shipping.
We talked about the discrepancy with the image/description on the site. He said that the version I got was the only one they have. But he said that he would let the appropriate people know so the page would be changed...
Well, it's been around two weeks. I'm happy to report that they did credit my credit card back the aforementioned $7.49. Plus I have a cheapie DVD to trade in somewhere.
However, Outpost still shows the picture and still has the description of the Roger Corman/Joe Dante version. So I figured I'd let everyone here know. BUYER BEWARE.
On a side note: I did receive my Evil Dead: Book of the Dead for $19.99 from Outpost. Very happy. I'll definitely do business there again.
