It's coming out soon. I wouldn't have paid anything near that amount for it.

Motion picture scores, particularly the rare/limited and Academy ("For your consideration...") promos, often conjure big bucks on the secondary market by collectors. The highest price I've seen paid for a single CD was $2500(!) for Basil Poledouris' Cherry 2000. Only 1500 of them were made.

well what's going to be released is the Moulin Rouge supplement, which includes more songs from the movie. The Craig Armstrong Score CD is different. It consists of solely Craig Armstrong music from the film, and I don't think it was ever formally released.

I have an MP3 version of the Promo CD... It contains 7 tracks from the score that aren't released commercially, and 6 tracks from the first soundtrack. The Moulin Rouge Soundtrack-2, meanwhile, contains a few more score tracks that are not on the promo cd. CDNOW has listed a Moulin Rouge OST that will be released next week - I'm under the assumption this will contain the complete score.

Edit: On second thought, it looks like it's jsut a double packaging of the first two soundtracks. However, across the two soundtracks and the promo CD, there are 10 tracks of original score. Since this is a musical, I tihnk that this generally covers the whole score (excepting the overture).
