How to return unopened NEW merchandise to another store?

Today i bought High Fidelity and Rushmore CC at BJ's for 27.99. I read in the RushmoreCC thread that you can return unopened DVD's to stores such as Wal-Mart.

My question is, how do you do this without a receipt? Should i try to BS my way saying i lost it? Or should i just play it cool? I usually don't return things as i am a careful consumer, so this is kind of new to me.

Thanks,
Chris.

Some people would call this a grey area -- one that straddles the line between acceptable and non-acceptable -- citing the store's willingness to accept returns without a receipt as its tacit approval.

I don't.

Please note, there are a lot of threads on this forum that ask about returning items without their receipts. The difference, and reason that these threads remain open, is that they could conceivably help someone return a product to the store it came from.

So...

Closing thread.
