Need help with PC games

My first post. I need help with playing PC games directly from the harddrive instead of from cd-rom. Games Im interested in are Starcraft:brood wars and Ghost recon and rogue spears:black thorn. Can anybody direct me in the right direction. I've tried SC:brood wars (copied the whole disk on HD and installed but when try to start, it says cannot find the cd in cdrom). Any help would be appreciated. TIA

I have used Norton Ghost in the past. The program creates a new drive in theory. Basically it makes an exact duplicate of your cd and writes it to your hard drive. It then assigns the game its own drive letter. Windows then recognizes it as a CD-rom drive. I hope this helps. Good luck.

You can download patches from this site http://www.gamecopyworld.com/ (for most newer games) that will let you play without the CD in the drive. Just make sure you you download the correct patch for the version and region of your game.
