The DVDTalk source for Console prices....and when they will drop in price

Ok so this is a pretty straight forward and simple thread. I will post what the current price of current consoles are...and I might even have a lowest used price as well. As we are inundated with "When is the PS2 going to drop from $300?' popping up all the time, i hope this thread will eliminate that problem. I will post lowest used prices to the best of my knowledge. Update me if you know a new or used lower price for any of the consoles.

PS2
Retail price - $299
Lowest "new" price - $299
Lowest "used" price - $249 (Gamestop.com w/ free game)
Anticipated price reduction date - Between the 2002 E3 and X-mas

Xbox
Retail price - $299
Lowest "new" price - $299 (everywhere)
Lowest "used" price - $279 (Gamestop B&M)
Anticipated price reduction date - Unknown

Gamecube
Retail price - $199
Lowest "new" price - $199
Lowest "used" price - NA
Anticipated price reduction date - Unknown

PSone
Retail price - $99
Lowest "new" price - $99
Lowest "used" price - $79 ("PSone") $49 (Older model Playstation)
Anticipated price reduction date - Unknown

Gameboy Advance
Retail price - $79
Lowest "new" price - $69 (most stores except Toys R Us and Kay-B which sell for $79)
Lowest "used" price -$59 (Electronics Boutique)
Anticipated price reduction date - Just had one from $99 to $79

Ways to get lower prices

- Get 10% off first purchase when you apply for a Target credit card

One Gamestop told me that if/when they have a used XBOX they will charge $279. Of course that may differ between stores. Does anyone know if EBGames.com has any used consoles in stock...I cant access due to a firewall at work.

I read in the most recent Video Business magazine that PS2 will have a price drop definetly by Xmas 2002 if not sooner.
It will probably drop to $199.

I just picked up a GameCube for my 9 y/o son and will get the PS2 for myself this Xmas if that price drop happens.

I don't know if this applies to the thread....

If you sign up for a charge account at a Target B&M, you will recieve
a coupon for 10% off anything in the store. After discount....

Playstation 2 - $270
X-box - $270
Gamecube - $180
Gameboy Advance - $63

UPDATE

BIG THANKS to jackepstein for the Target card idea.

Other ways to lower the price on consoles are more than welcome in this thread.
