POLL Who will win Album of the Year (Grammy)

Grammy Awards- tonight! On CBS.

Tough call on album of the year. Let's eliminate India.Arie and OutKast from the get go. Too new and still relatively obscure.

That leaves Dylan/U2/O Brother.

I think it'll come down to Dylan/U2. I suspect it will be U2......

Incidentally, anyone care to guess when U2 will perform?

I don't really like any of them but due to popularity and success I'd have to go with U2.

I really hope that U2 wins because I am a fan of their work and I really like the songs on the album. But I really hope that India.Arie doesn't win anything tonight because she should never have been nominated for anything but best new artist. I had never heard of her until she had been nominated. I hadn't even see one of her videos, and then she gets all of these Grammy nominations. I don't even like her music. She even got more nominations than Alicia Keyes, who should have been nominated in this category. She truly would have given U2 a run for their money.

I voted for U2 but fear a backlash. I also think this should be in the music forum and will end up there

First off, the only band that rightfully got nominated IMHO is U2. I can't believe that Linkin Park did not get nominated in this catagory. They outsold all of these other albums by far, and there is a reason because of this..... their album rocks!!!

Until the Grammy's start looking at what the artists are currently doing, instead of their entire history(aka why Dylan or U2 will win), I don't think I'll watch. LP is the best album of the year, along with U2, Lifehouse and Michelle Branch (yes, it actually is quite an amazing album). My $.02.

I think in this case the grammy committee did look at what the artists (that were nom.) are currently doing. I'm obviously rooting for U2 (my fav band) but Dylans album is supposed to be his best in years. If U2 wins they will be the first band (rock band?) to win the Album of the Year twice. If they lose, it better be to Dylan.

I'm just gonna be a bitch to the ridiculous posters in this thread.

Linkin Park shouldn't even be considered......they have a couple good singles and a lousy record to go with it. Also, the Grammy's are not the Billboard or AMA's. The awards don't go to the most records sold. (And thank God for that).

How can someone blast India.Arie for being nominated and yet they've never heard the album. Dumb thing to say.
Although I will agree with you that Alicia Keyes should've been nominated and I was shocked that she wasn't.

It'll be Dylan and U2. Dylan would normally be the shoe-in to win the trophy but this year U2 is the 911 band. So likely that U2 will take the award.

Even though they don't have a prayer it's nice to see Outkast get a nod.
