Which mini system with DD & DTS?

I'm on a bit of a budget, and I've decided that PC multimedia speakers with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS won't do the job. So I'm now after a mini system with surround and centre speakers, with DD and DTS decoding built in.
So far I've looked at the Sony MHCDP800AV, which is pretty impressive, plus I can get it for AU$200 cheaper than retail.

Is there anything else of the sort that anyone could suggest? Preferebly around the AU$1000 mark, which I'm guessing is about US$500.

CSW's

I am guessing that you are not dealing with a large room since you thought about going with a set of computer speakers. So I would look at the CSW's http://www.hifi.com/store/category.c...21e&type=store That has everything you wanted except a DVD player which you can get for around $100-$200US and that would put you around the $500US mark. I have listened to a simliar setup by CSW at my girlfriends house and was very impressed. Well just a thought.

I have a Yamaha VS-10. This is a good set, considering the price (about US$500, or may be less).

Just picked up a Yamaha YHT 18 for the basement. It's in a 15x25ft room and does a pretty decent job of filling it. Should be able to find for around $400(+/-) shipped. Should be able to find a single disc DVD'r for $100-150 pretty easily. link >

Found this at Ubid: http://www.ubid.com/actn/opn/getpage...onId=524218564

Looks like a good deal, and 120W is still a lot of sound. Can anyone vouch for KLH?

Power ratings are not a good indicator of sound quality.

To answer your question, I can do whatever the opposite of vouching for KLH is -- not that they didn't make high-quality speakers for their day a few decades back.
