Review Request: BBC's Blue Planet

I saw bits and pieces of this on the Discovery Channel and am very interested in picking this set up (Region 1). I noticed that Amazon has released the first two discs with the second set coming in May.

Can someone provide a link to a review or provide your own comments on the first set?

Thanks.

When I was watching these on the Discovery Channel I saw the ad for the DVDs at Discovery.com, but they wanted $50 for the first two DVDs. I bought them from Amazon.com instead for $14.95 each. They include some of the best underwater footage I have seen. Most of the footage was shot by following the feeding frenzies of the various animals, a tedious effort. They would go days without seeing anything. The DVDs include two episodes each in the order they were aired on the Discovery channel, not the original BBC presentation. Excellent anamorphic 16:9 transfer with Dolby stereo, as well as plenty of extras for a television show. Behind the scenes featurettes, interview with cameraman Doug Allan, music video, photo gallery and fact files. I also have the other two DVDs on preorder. Well worth the $14.95!

Thanks Max. I noticed that the BBC version is for sale at Amazon's UK site, but haven't seen any reviews for that series.

I may just go with the Discovery Channel version and pick up discs 3 and 4 in May.

Thanks again for the info.

Brian, thanks for the review link. I ordered both last night
and pre-ordered the other two that are being released in May.
