Okay, if any of you read the other thread, my parents are finally getting an HDTV. They've always believed in having a big honkin' antenna up on the roof. We've had this one about 10 years now. My question is, if they buy a STB, can they pretty much just plug in and get HDTV? I know it might be a little more complicated than that, but will this old antenna work?

You can use a standard UHF antenna however there are antenna specially desigend for HDTV reception.

If you get good UHF reception currently, you should be all set for HDTV, assuming your local stations are actually broadcasting digitally.
