...saw this movie when it was new, back in 1963... all I remember about it is that, upon leaving the Paris cinema where my then SO and I went to see it,
I mentioned that, really, Mr Fellini didn't have much to say ... but he says it so beautifully ! ...
...of course, I was (very much, sigh) younger then - I don't know what my opinion today would be, not having seen the film in almost forty years...

As for the film itself, a must own...though this, of course, is not for everyone's taste. If you have yet to see it, I would definately rent first, then decide. As for the DVD...I have it, but have yet to watch it. This is not to say that I haven't seen the film in 40 years (like Hendrik), I saw it a few months ago, just before the DVD was released, so I stand by my liking for the movie. The discs are supposed to be a wonderful presentation with outstanding extras, though I can't vouch for that. But the packaging's real pretty .
