Call me silly, but I've actually entertained te thought of going to see the Corrs play in Ireland's Lansdowne Rd concert venue in late June (be part of a summer vacation).

I've travelled all over the country to see Phish. I've never gone on tour with 'em though. I'm not THAT crazy.

Depends on the band and how exclusive it is to see them.

I would have gone to Atlanta from here to see TOOL when they only played 4 shows in the US right where Laterlaus came out.

I also would have drove to Atlanta (but from S. FL so add about 3 more hours) to see Radiohead. That fell through though =(

I based my summer trip to go to NY and NJ in 1999 solely on Woodstock.

I would also like to time a CA trip to see Coachella.

Same here -- my longest Phish trip took me from Chicago to the northern-most point in Maine for the Lemonwheel shows.

*sigh* If only there were a summer Phish tour to look forward to this year.

The furthest I've travelled to see a concert was from Milwaukee, WI to London to see a James concert. I was already planning on going to London for vacation at some point, so basically my travel plans were just changed to allow for seeing their last show with Tim Booth.

The furthest I've travelled solely for a concert was flying from Minneapolis to Denver, then driving to Albuquerque and back to see Johnette Napolitano from Concrete Blonde at two different shows.

On a similar note, I'll be driving about 15 hours total in February to see 3 Concrete Blonde shows.

So, I guess it depends on the band and how likely it is that I'll be seeing them anytime soon if I don't travel to see them.

My farthest was from Vegas to Atlanta for the 2001 summer shows. Until then, I'd lived in PA, so all the big events were way easier to get to.

By the way, check out www.walfredo.com and click on the Simpsons pic. It makes it sound like a fall tour is very likely this year. Keepin' my fingers crossed...

Here in Oklahoma, we have to drive far to see someone.

I have been to Dallas before, and I am actually going this thursday to see the Breeders. I was considering going to Albequerque to see the Strokes tomorrow, but the wife said I can't.

I wouldn't really drive too far away though. You can pretty much see anyone in Dallas.

I'd go any distance for the right show. I've gone cross-country a few times and once flew to England for some concerts...

Who's still in the band? Is it both Deals? Did Tanya Donnelly return? (It's not like Belly is touring).

Donnelly + Deal + Deal would be hot.

Umm, Los Angeles would be the farthest I'd go and it's only 1 hr from my house. Almost every big tour comes to LA.

I've gone to San Antonio to see Rush and REM. I've also go to Austin occasionally because they get better small venue shows than Houston. The ones I can remember going to in Austin are: King's X (twice), George Clinton, They Might Be Giants, Public Enemy, Sonic Youth.

I think I would travel anywhere to see a band I really love if I had the funds! Thus far the farthest, I've only gone to New York from Philadelphia a few times...

No more than a 3 or 4 hour drive. I'm not willing to spend all the money on gas and hotel accomodations that would be required to go further, especially give the price of tickets today.

I'd easily drive 500 or so miles and make a road trip out of it.

I went on a 2000 mile road trip to see Pearl Jam 8 times in August, 2000.
