Closed Threads & Then Re-opened? + more

Couple of comments/suggestions on the DTF.
I mean not to slam anyone or the forum itself.
These are just my observations over the last few months.

1st. When a thread is closed. And then re-opened. There is
no explanation of why many times..
Would be nice for that forum moderator to explain why it was closed and then reopened. Or whomever closed it.....
Example is: DVD Bargain forum best dvd deal so far in 2002.
This thread was closed and then reopened with no explanation.
How are posters suppose to learn which post is appropriate or
not, when they are closed & again opened with no explanation.

2nd. Many postings have been closed of late without an
explanation. Would be nice to see a comment as to why.
Many times it can be understood by most, but not by all.

3rd. How about adding a 2nd moderator to the Dvd Trade Forum.
The post count is high, and yes many are from bumping daily
trades. Still alot of posts for this forum. thats it. btives

1. Not real sure what the reasoning was on that one... Even Jonathan E. is still trying to figure that one out.

2. Which forum in particular are you directing this towards? I know Todd B. and I almost always try to leave a note somewhere in a closed thread in the main forum.

3. Can't answer that one... But maybe Geoff or Mao will be along to answer that one.

I actually re-opened that bargain thread. Sorry for not posting a note.

In general mods are really good about posting why a thread is closed, the big offender of not posting a note is actually me, and this is because I am often swamped with stuff and am quickly dealing with problem threads... I'll put a big note on my monitor to remember to post an explination when closing.

In terms of the exchange forum, I don't know if we need another mod there yet. Mao does a great job of keeping the troops in line, if he needs help I'm more than happy to look in to it.

More importantly, I've been spending time researching resources for trades gone bad (as I got burned in a trade at Switchouse and am working to resole another with a now suspended member who has 3 bad trades outstanding.)

Thanks for clearing up some of my concerns/interests.

I see many threads of late being closed and I was
just wondering why they were closed w/ no comment.

Was not slamming the dvd trade forum moderator in any
way. Just that some postings (that might/should be closed),
are there & open 12+ hours later.

Anyways....for myself I think I found a excellent forum.
Just wanted to leave some feedback thats all. btlives
