Ultima Online

Has anyone ever played this online game? Is it worth it (30 to get the game, then you have to buy time after three months, I think)? For reference, I thought Final Fantasy 9 was killer, and I liked the old D&D games (pool of radience, for example) ... and no, calling me nerd-boy isn't acceptable here because I DIDN'T PUT MY NAME ON THAT LIST!

I never played it, but knew some friends that have. All I know is that they played for long amounts of time. They played all night and would come to class with their eyes all blood shot and shyte. What I'm saying is, if you get into it, it can be pretty addicting.

It would have been funnier if cidmo's thread was about Final Fantasy, though.

I dropped Ultima Online the day Everquest came out and have been playing it since.

UO was alright, but certain aspects of it kinda bored me. It was all skill based, so you had to do stupid crap like baking to raise dexterity (??).

The main reason I left though (and this was before they had the pvp and non-pvp areas) was the fact that you could have 3 kids run up on ya and kill you and take your stuff that you worked hard for because "it's fun". Not to me it's not
