List "crime and punishment" songs!
Thought about this topic when I was listening to Travis Tritt's new (?) song, "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde." What songs can you think of that have anything to do with "crime and punishment?" As in, committing a crime, or even just doing something bad/mean, and/or being punished for it, by jail time, or some sort of "poetic justice." Here are the songs I've thought of so far:
Country
"Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde," Travis Tritt
"Best of Intentions," Travis Tritt (debatable, but the video is of him in prison)
"The Road Goes On Forever," Robert Earl Keen
"Goodbye Earl," Dixie Chicks
"Folsom Prison Blues," Johnny Cash
"Too Lazy to Work, Too Nervous to Steal," BR-549 (maybe not completely, but the title of the song has to do with crime)
"El Paso," Marty Robbins
"Willie, Waylon, and Me," David Allen Coe
"Little Goodbyes," SHEdaisy
Rock
"Hey Joe," Jimi Hendrix
"Whiskey In The Jar," Metallica
"Banditos," The Refreshments
"What's My Age Again," Blink-182
"Cocaine," Eric Clapton
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," AC/DC
Swing
"Hell," Squirrel Nut Zippers"
I just realized (trying not to stereotype) that quite a lot of rap songs deal with crime... drugs, murder, etc. Please feel free to only list the ones that are relatively famous.
Fire bad!
