You can clear a big area like this if you're quiet and the you're not seen. But sometimes the XBOX A.I. wakes them up suddenly.
You also save ammo doing it this way.

It's hillarious! First of all the stuff they say when you do it is funny..."Hey! do I owe you money or something?".

Then the whole group chases you down to kill you while calling you a traitor

yeah, it's getting easier to pistol whip the little jerks. And it just looks so dang funny too. Haven't tried it with the rocket launcher, but I love the way it turns the gun around and whacks 'em with the butt.

Course' it's hard to beat sniping -- if you time it right you can kill 2 grunts with one shot.

Also with the shotgun, it's pretty neat blowing the flood out of the air right as they're jumping towards you.

I like driving the Scorpion right up to one of the aliens and firing a tank shell. I even killed myself so I could play through the level again, just to use the Scorpion. Couldn't down the alien transporter though, even after five direct hits!!

The first time through Halo I missed the Scorpion, because the autosave for the level had me saved at the bottom of the tunnel, with barely any health. Halfway up the tunnel, I ended up overpowering one of the aliens and stole his Ghost, then when I entered the area with the Scorpion I guess I just wanted to get through there as fast as possible, looking for health.

Sniping and hand to hand attacks while they sleep. I've killed 8 or 9 guys without waking them up (in a row). As mentioned before, it saves on ammo since I'm usually packin' the rocket launcher and sniper rifle.

This time round in Heroic, I've been using the pistol a LOT more than I ever did the first time. With these guys taking so much more damage and the increased numbers, it really helps to take em down from a distance -- also much more stopping power. Compared to normal diff. I've barely used the AR at all prior to the Flood. Try to stick to Sniper and Pistol, picking up plasma rifles and rocket launchers from time to time.

My favorite is making those Covenant b@st@rds fly!
Either by sticking them with a plasma grenade, fragmentation grenade, rocket launcher, or using the Scorpion.

An explosion from any of the weapons I described above sends them flying. You could even see them in the air with their arms flailing. It's too cool.

I enjoyed this in Unreal Tournament, especially with the head shots. But in Halo, I don't get the same satisfaction. Simply because the head doesn't pop off. It's just not the same feeling.
I guess I've got a sick sense of humor.

ever pistol whip the captain at the beginning of the game? It's really funny, you should try it. But don't bother fighting the other ppl, they are invincible.

On the bridge scenes, I love throwing plasma grenades and launching guys 50ft in the air and over the edge of the bridge.

Even better is when the Covies throw themselves off the bridge to avoid grenades.

Less work for me.

Get a friend to come over, turn on Infinite grenades, then when you kill him start tossing Plasma grenades near his body. It will fly into the air, then try to aim for the landing point, BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE. My room mate and I play so every kill = +5 second wait, with Infinate grenades. I love racking up a 2 min waiting period on him then spend all that time having my Mad Bomber way with his corpse.

BrinStar, how do you turn on infinite grenades? Is that a multiplayer option I've been missing?

When your in the Multiplayer Menu go to "Edit Game Types" then create a version of Slayer or anything else really, only have Infinanite Grenades turned on.

Its in one of the setup menus when your creating a new Game Type.
Play around in the menus till you see it. I can't remember exactly which menu it is. I think its the 3rd one down once your actualy customizing the new game type.
