Went to see Brotherhood of the Wolf yesterday, and there was a coming attraction preview for Zu Warriors (aka The Legend of Zu). There were no scenes of dialogue, but since they were pushing the Crouching Tiger angle, I imagine it will be released subtitled and not dubbed. Release date was in March, IIRC.

It looks like a real CGI fest, and I don't know how the general audience responded to it. (Then again, I don't think that some of them knew that they were about to see a 2h 22m long subtitled French film, either!)

This is on the slate for a release by Hong Kong Legends in UK R2.

I've only heard of Hong Kong Legends doing the original, Zu: Warriors of the Magic Mountain. I'm guessing Skorp was talking about the newer film, Legend of Zu.

Now it's no CTHD, but more fun than what people in Hong Kong let out. Flawed, but suitable for an american audience who don't have anything to compare to (the asian public had the books, previous films and TV series to compare with). It would be great if miramax improved the cgi in some scenes though, because some of the sfx look like the anamatics from other films (quality wise), however I would doubt it.

Personally, I thought the film looked beautiful - but the plot had me wishing I had a notepad so I could not only keep track of characters, but keep track of what the hell was going on. ;)

Perhaps it's just me - but I found this one confusing as hell. And I usually pride myself on figuring things out in films.

Still, I bought the film and I'm pleased to have it in my collection if only for the beautiful action sequences and cool effects.

you're right about the plot, it was confusing but it kept me entertained and as a plus, cecilia cheung was in it.
