Apparently, their actual failure rate is no worse than Nintendo or Sony, but they're not handling the service requests very well. This is in stark contrast to the earlier posts on this board by the guy with the busted GC.

Hopefully for MS, this won't get picked up by the major outlets.

thank god for the best buy warranty. No need to deal with MS if my Xbox messes up. Just stroll on down to Best Buy and exchange it for a new system. I'll let Best Buy do the dealing with MS.

I think the extended Best Buy warranty is a good idea for the Xbox or PS2.

A guy that lives in my friends hall here at college is one of those people. He's been waiting nearly 4 weeks now. No replacement or anything. I feel really bad for him, beause I know he was so happy to get one. Poor kid.
