So this boxset is about to come out, and I'm considering purchasing it without having seen any shows...

Not sure whether to put this request in DVD Reviews or TV Talk... Looking for people's reactions to the series itself, as well as any opinions on the new boxset presentation and extras...

I've heard that the original Brit version may be better in many ways, though not as comprehensive... Should I rent first?

I'm eager to support nearly any gay-themed drama series, especially one which lets its characters have an actual sex life, for a change... I hear the characters are a bit shallow, perhaps... But is the series itself shallow? The ladies of Sex and the City aren't exactly deep either...

Opinions pro or con?

Dvdfile.com has a great review of this set. I've seen some episodes on vhs. I'll be picking it up for sure!
