RMD has promotion running now that if you buy a 3, 6, or 12 month gift certifate you save 20, 30, or 40% off the regular monthly prices. has anyone tried any of these? I wonder what would happen if you bought a 12 month GC and they went belly up in 4 months. sounds like a good deal if you like rmd.

I bought the one-year GC for the 4 out plan. A very good deal - basically get the 4 out plan for the same price as the 2-out plan that I would have stuck with anyways). Waiting for my month to expire before I can activate it (jan. 11th).

I spoke to Matt from customer service the other day (Wed) and posed this same exact question. On Wednesday he didn't know the answer to this question. However he said that he would get back to me. Hopefully he does its now Friday. I do know that he is busy as well as I at times.

Although this is a great deal I'm very skeptical because the 2 out plan at 40% off for the year comes out to be.

$8.37 (100.44/12)
-$5.44 Postage *
-----------------------
$2.93 Leaving as you can see barely nothing. With this likely to decrease due to possible postal rates hike.

*Plus account for postage on 8 movies in a month Factor in the postage Hopefully they invest the monies appropriately. (.34 * (8 shipped to you + 8 shipped back) rumor has it that Post Office is increasing the postage AGAIN!

But in the case the do go belly up. I'm guessing your SOL because the biggest creditor would be in line first. Plus on their site it says no refunds issued. But Matt said he'd get back to me on this and I hope that if they do go belly up they'd refund us proratia style. But who knows. My radar is sounding off all over this purported deal. A part of me wants something in writing as to services not rendered in case of bankruptcy. I'd have no problem paying this amount if I get the services but in case they do go belly up. I'd like to some sort of documentation or quarentee that I'd be refunded prorated style.

That's true, but most people can't do 8 a month with only 2 out at a time. i bit the bullet and got a 6 month plan A GC. Let us know what matt says though.
