Question: Megaman X6

When I try and save in Megaman X6 i get an error message related to the memory card. I am running the game on my PS2 w/ a PS2 memory card and I have never run into problems saving a PSX game on a PS2 memory card. Has anyone else has run into any problems saving with Megaman X6? Do I have a defective copy of Megaman X6 and/or do I need to purchase a PSX memory card?

You should not be able to save any ps1 games on a ps2 memory card.

I have saved Chrono Cross, Metal Slug X, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and Megaman X5 on my PS2 memory card without any problems in the past.
