PS2 setup question!

I noticed if you go into the version screen of the PS2 you can select playstation driver. This gives you the option to change the disc speed from standard to fast and also allows you to change texture mapping from standard to smooth. What will happed if I change them?

It's in the manual.

Some older games won't load correctly with the disc speed setting at fast, but I would say try it out and see what happens.

I haven't checked out what smooth does vs. standard. I haven't played any PS1 games on my PS2 :)
