I'm guessing he got those final 3 for 3 bucks each. Sounds like a YMMV kinda thing though.

You guys are lucky... most of the used games at my blockbusters and hollywoods look like they have been used as a toy for a three year old or a cat. Saw Red Fraction at a good price. But when I looked at the disc it was very scuffed and scratched.

Mine has tmb for 20, dave mirra for 30. No sign of smackdown, gta3, or mgs2. Nba street was 40 (come on, bbv) as was gt3. Not a good deal.

I was at the local BB today, and if you do indeed own a PS2, get your arse down there, you'll be in hog heaven. Tons of great releases for $25. Get one of those disc scratch remover kits if you want to fix the disc.

My local Blockbuster stores in the South FLorida area has all the titles marked WAY up. I even asked them to scan them at the register. GT3 for $40. I think I will pass.

For anyone who lives near the Blockbuster in Owings Mills (New Town), the only deals I saw were:

Metal Gear Solid 2 $30
Devil May Cry $30
Red Faction $30
Twisted Metal Black $20
Escape from Monkey Island $30

Dave Mirra might have been $30, as well. No sign of Smackdown, and NBA Street and Gran Turismo 3 were $40.

Mike, it has been my experience buying previously-played titles from BB that it isn't worth it. Yes, the titles I've purchased have been scratched very badly (you wonder just how many hands some of these titles have been in, and just what exactly people are doing to them). Many of the titles I purchased were so damaged, they would not play (luckily BB did offer a 30-day guarantee on the games--not sure if they still offer that or not, it's been a while since I did this). I decided it wasn't worth the hassle for me. I prefer to pay the extra $10 or $20 for a brand-new disc, pristine box and instruction booklet, etc. Plus, I'm a little more anal about the condition of my games and DVDs, so I know I don't have to look at all those scratches and cringe.

To each their own, though. I'm sure some folks have found some great deals from BB; it's just not for me.

Yes, they still offer the 30-day guarantee. I was able to find a Blockbuster this weekend that had Twisted Metal for $19.99 (my local BB had it for $29.99). The disc was in excellent shape. The only problem was that that "BBV" and a number is written on the disc in marker. I haven't tried yet to remove the writing.

A while back I purchased a disc cleaner and use that on any used DVD/game I purchase. THings have been going well so far.

I don't understand why the local BB had some sorry launch games for the same price, or sometimes higher price, than newer games. For instance, Fantavision was $40. That game ought to be free.

Picked up Devil May Cry and Tony Hawk 3 for $30 each.

Both were pretty dirty, but cleaned right up and play great.
